Today I woke up at 7 and had breakfast at 8:15. Bags to coach was at 8:45, and then we left at 9 to make our way to Florence. We drove for about three hours before stopping at a rest stop, and then we drove a few more hours to Pisa. We had less than an hour in Pisa, so I had to quickly get my touristy pictures and then I had my first Italian gelato! It was coconut flavored, and it was awesome.
After Pisa, we drove to the campsite where we would be staying. As soon as we got to Florence, we took our group photo with the city in the background. I'm glad I bought it (€11) because I think it's a good picture of all of us, and the scenery is awesome.
After the group picture, we went into town for the optional Tuscan meal (€29). We were told that it would be a five course meal, but one of those courses was a pasta course that included spaghetti, penne with pesto, and cheese ravioli. So it felt more like a seven course meal. I thought the ravioli was the best. The meatballs were really good, too. The dessert looked better than it tasted. I don't think anyone left hungry that night, haha.
After dinner, Kellie took us to a karaoke bar called Red Garter. She was late when we met back up in Pisa, so she had to do her Contikioke in front of everyone. She sang "Smells Like Teen Spirit," and it was pretty entertaining. At least if we have to go to a bar, it's good that it was a karaoke bar so there was some entertainment for the non-drinkers.
At 10:30, we got to ride back to the campsite on the coach. I was in bed by 11:30 and ready for a long day in Florence and Rome!
