Today I woke up at six, and then we brought down our bags at seven and ate breakfast afterward. At 7:30, we walked as a group over to the store where we learned about beer steins. The man working at the store told us there was a flood coming. When we got back home, Sarah found a video about the flood (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FnjImjkvrs) where you can actually see people paddling past our hotel. I guess we got out just in time.
At 8:00 (well, a little after since we all had to wait for the Kiwi to pee), we left to make our way to Amsterdam. After a few hours of driving, we stopped at a rest stop where I bought some chocolate candy things that looked good and I started another book (Little Women). Then we drove a little longer until we got to Edam.
The first thing we did in Edam was a tour about how cheese and clogs are made. There were free samples of all their cheeses, and they were so good that I went through the line twice. Then we drove about ten more minutes so we could go on our included bike tour of Edam.
The bike tour was good, but my bike was too small, so I was basically hitting myself in the chin with my knees the whole time. It was cool seeing the canals and windmills and stuff, though. We also took some group pictures in front of a windmill.
Then we drove for about 45 minutes to get to the Amsterdam hotel. We filled out our Contiki surveys during the drive today. I was rooming with Serena, Jane, and Veronica this time. Dinner was at 6pm, and it was a buffet of some kind of chicken, fries, pasta, fruit, vegetables, etc. It was pretty good. I think I ended up going to bed early again tonight.
