London: Part 1

This morning, we got to meet our third roommate. Her name was Sam, and she was from Auckland, New Zealand. She had just flown in that morning and was hungry, so I invited her to join me and Lee for breakfast. Lee had picked out a pancake place that he had always wanted to go to but never tried before. He was late meeting us, though, and it took a while to walk there, so I felt bad for making Sam wait when she was starving. We all got the butterscotch pancakes, and they were amazing and definitely worth waiting for.

Sam was going to try to stay awake until it got dark, and she wanted to do the same kind of touristy stuff as me, so she ended up joining us for most of the morning/early afternoon. Lee walked us all over the place (Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, St. James's Park, Covent Garden, etc.). Then Sam went back to the hotel while Lee and I waited to meet up with Katherine and Jo (two of our other friends we met in Australia who live in Southampton and took a train up to see us).

We found a little restaurant in Covent Garden to talk and catch up while drinking milkshakes. Then we went to the pub where Katherine's uncle works, where I had some really awesome tortellini. After dinner, we said goodbye for the night and made plans for the next day. It was really awesome to see my English friends again!
